The Competition.

1. Artist must submit an application 30 days prior to the competition.

2. Application must include a sketch of their proposed design.

3. Design must be appropriate for all viewers - family friendly.

4. No nudity, religious or political statements will be accepted.

5. Design will contain no words or symbols used as advertising or promotion.

6. Design will not violate any copyright laws.

7. Each artist will be given a 7' square to create their design.

8. Artist working hours start at 8am and design must be completed no later than 3pm.

9. You are allowed one other person to help you complete your design.

10. The entire artist's space must be utilized. There should be no pavement showing unless it is part of the design.

11. No writing of anything is allowed outside of your square. COTRA will provide a poster with the artist's name and hometown, by your square.

12. Only non-toxic soft pastels may be used. You are allowed washable tempera paint for background only. Use of any other materials is forbidden.

13. Judging of the completed art will take place from 3 to 3:30pm. Prize awards will take place shortly after.

14. Artists assume all responsibility for their materials and belongings.

15. All artists ages 17 and under require a parent/guardian permission signature to participate in this event.

Artists will check in between 7:30am to 8:30am at 157 3rd Ave South

(corner of 3rd Ave & Southview Blvd) Each artist will be directed to their square.

All artists (and their helpers) will receive their wristbands at check-in. This will entitle recipients to free and/or reduced food and beverage costs.

COTRA will provide each artist a "tip jar", (along with their poster), and encourage festival attendees to show their appreciation for the art.

COTRA is a rain or shine event and we DO NOT provide protection from the elements. As we all know, weather in MN is unpredictable...should fowl weather disrupt the competition and/or start to damage the art, we will call the competition, prize money will be divided up and all artists will receive compensation, accordingly.

COTRA is a family, dog/pet friendly, and wheelchair accessible event.

COTRA and OTRA are entitled to photograph all works of art and may use them for promotion/advertising.

The On The Road Again fall festival closes down Southview Blvd from 12th Ave to 3rd Ave. You can access South St. Paul from Interstate 494 or Hwy 52. COTRA artists can use free parking on 3rd and 4th Aves and most other side streets of Southview Blvd. (Please be mindful of resident's homes/driveways/access sidewalks)

All participants agree that Chalk On The Road Again, On The Road Again, Sponsors and their respective affiliate companies, parents, subsidiaries, advertising representatives, and agent/consultants will have NO liability whatsoever and will be held harmless by participants for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this event.
